Stage 1 Swing Arm Mono Shock Dragster

- CAD designed for proper driveline angle and instant center locations; Unlike other builders Race Tech does not add a suspension on the back of a hard tail dragster.
- Our swing arm suspension does not require the Big Gun or mono tube type shocks to work
properly. The reason other brands have to use these shocks is because the shock angle is too
severe, creating too much load for the shock to handle. - Choice of a 200” to 250” chassis

Race Tech Dragster Anatomy
The Chassis
Race Tech engineers each chassis to the highest standards, using domestic Aircraft Grade 4130 Chromoly tubing throughout. Each car is designed using in house CAD technology. This precision technology allows us to create a design that can be repeated, or design a custom chassis to your specifications and still retain a quick delivery time.
We use an in house customized design software program which tells us how long each tube needs to be, where to bend each tube, and how many of each tube we need, thus taking out all the guess work and retaining consistency. We also take extra care to index each bend so the writing is facing down so you don’t have to worry about the ink bleeding through your Powdercoating.
All of our tubing is bent on CNC bending equipment by highly trained in house veteran technicians. This allows us to maintain a uniform and repeatable bend, without stressing the tube.
We use special milling machines to notch each tube to exact tolerance, which maintains a better fit for a stronger weld area.
Each chassis is welded on Jig tables designed to hold each tube in the proper position. Each chassis is TIG welded using square wave technology by trained in house welders. (You don’t have to worry about somebody coming in from their day job to weld your chassis in their off time.) Each chassis is welded in the same consistent order designed by Race Tech to keep the chassis straight and true.
Every Race Tech dragster meets or exceeds SFI spec. 2.5C which has an ET of 6.00 seconds or slower. Custom dragsters are also available with a higher specification if needed.
Finally each Race Tech chassis goes thru two quality control checks before they are powder coated or assembled. Each car is checked for incomplete welds, and quality of welds, while making sure it has all the options the customer has requested.
The Body
We are known for our long lasting great fitting tinwork. Race Tech bodies don’t rattle or clash during chassis flex, providing years of service!
You can really tell the difference in the shutdown area or when you ride around in the pits!
Race Tech dragster bodies are built by in house trained technicians. All bodies are made from clean premium grade 5052 aluminum. We offer bodies in .050 or .040 thickness. Each body is cut, formed, free of burrs or sharp edges and is ready for paint.
All of our Dzus buttons are the same length so you don’t have to worry about mixing them up!
We use high quality preformed MR-10 scratch resistant polycarbonate windshields.
Design Qualities
When you purchase a Race Tech race car you get a car that is designed to function and perform with the highest reliability and consistency in the industry. We design our cars to be user friendly, making each part that requires service easy to access for repairs or service. Some of our design qualities which distinguish Race Tech cars include:
- We designed our suspended dragsters from scratch to provide proper driveline angles for less drag and vibration.
- 4-Link brackets are designed to work together to provide proper instant center locations
- Shock location on our swing arm cars puts less stress on the shock allowing you to run a lighter spring and less shock valving for better tire control.
Technical Note: If your current dragster requires a heavy spring and aggressive shock valving then your shock is mounted on a severe angle and cannot hold the car up properly. The heavy spring is just a band aid for a poor design. - Radiator is mounted in front of engine making it easier to service transmission while it keeps your engine cool.
- Transmission can be removed out the top or bottom of the chassis.
- Floating upper engine saddles allows car to flex without breaking saddle and allows for easy change out in case of breakage without welding on the car.
- Fuel cell vent is located in neck not on top of tank so it will not leak if you fill it up into the neck.
- Shifter is mounted so handle will not be hitting you in the side of the leg.
- Chute handle is on the side of frame allowing more room in dash and easy access.
- Master cylinder is mounted outside of driver compartment to keep fluid off your floor board.
- A-arm body panels can be removed without taking tie rods loose.
- Lower ground effects lip on body is above bottom edge of the frame so you will not drag or tear the body if you drag the bottom frame rail.
