Danny Waters Jr. from LaGrange, N.C., wrapped up the IHRA Quick Rod Championship, and finished the season with four victories. Waters won the Palm Beach makeup at Darlington, and captured the Sunday Darlington race. Later in the season, he swept the Farmington weekend, on his way to another world championship.
